Prospect Enrichment Preschool is strongly supported by private individuals through their donations of time. Not only is the school funded mainly by private donations but it also has a strong volunteer program, providing extra help and attention for each child. Volunteers help in a number of ways such as reading to a child or small group, initiating an art or science project, or just playing with the children.
In the classroom
The preschool depends on volunteers to give the students the best environment for learning. Parents, family members and school supporters provide extra help and attention for each child. Volunteers help in a variety of ways: reading to a child or small group, initiating an art or science project, cooking and nutrition lesson, storytelling, music, gardening and art activities, or simply being with and listening to a child.
As a Board or Endowment Fund member
The Board of Directors and Endowment Fund Boards each include a diverse group of volunteers including church members, education professionals and business community members. Both Boards are part of the corporation. Each group but meets independently but operates with the same goal of responsibility toward establishing and maintaining policies and the financial well-being of the preschool
Outside the classroom
There are administrative jobs, both short term or recurring, for volunteers to help keep the preschool running smoothly for children and staff alike. Bookkeeping, fund raising activities, grant writing support, bus and equipment maintenance, website and computer support and data entry are but a few of the volunteer opportunities that help the preschool make a difference for children.
